Gift & Donations Policy

At the Clinic we do not encourage patients to give or bequeath gifts.

We may accept unsolicited gifts of nominal value from patients or their relatives provided this does not affect, or appear to affect, the way the doctor prescribes, advises, treats, refers, or provides services for patients.

The Clinic or the doctor will at no time use their influence to pressurise or persuade patients or their relatives to offer gifts.

If the Clinic or doctor receives a gift or bequest from a patient or their relative, consideration will always be given as to the potential damage this could cause to the patients’ trust in the doctor and the public’s trust in the profession.

Gifts or bequests will be refused where they could be perceived as an abuse of trust.

The Clinic and the doctor will not at any time put pressure on patients or their families to make donations to other people or organisations.

A register will be maintained of all gifts received by patients or their families. The register will include the name of the donor, nature of the gift and its estimated value.
